You may know him as Clint Eastwood’s son, but Scott has worked hard to make his own name in Hollywood. Here are six unexpected things you probably didn’t know about the Men's Fitness cover guy and Longest Ride star.
He wasn't always known as Clint's son
He was born Scott Clinton Reeves. When first auditioning for roles, he used Reeves so he could make his own name, but eventually adopted Eastwood in 2008 to embrace the family legacy. “I think my dad always wanted me to,” said Scott in Interview. “I just wanted to prove to myself that I could carry on his name.”
He's also an entrepreneur
When he’s not fishing or catching waves you may find him at Saddle Bar in Solana Beach, CA., where he’s a co-owner of the boozy joint. And he doesn’t stop there – he’s making his own whiskey to sell. The name? Eastwood Whiskey, of course. Acting isn’t his only gig it turns out.
He has a strong work ethic
In order to support himself when he first started acting, Scott worked odd jobs—including parking cars and doing construction. And he continues to pay his own way. As he told us at his Men's Fitness cover shoot: "I may never be the best actor in the world, but I'll be the hardest working."
He's worked with his dad before
The first film Scott appeared in was Flags of Our Fathers (2006), which Clint directed. He also appeared in the old man's Gran Torino (2008), Invictus (2009) and Trouble With the Curve (2012).
Hollywood living isn't for him
After growing up in Hawaii and small-town Carmel (CA.), Scott chose to live in San Diego instead of L.A. so he can avoid the show biz fray. “There’s no bullshit here, no pretentiousness, no one trying to climb a social ladder,” he said in a Nylon interview. “It’s just people living their lives, and I’m very happy here. You only get one life; why not live a great one?”
He's not the only Eastwood scion in show biz
