Retirement doesn’t suit John Wick well.
Keanu Reeves returns as the expert hitman in the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 2, and we got out first glimpse of the action-packed, ass-kicking trailer over the weekend at New York Comic-Con. Wick has a new dog, a new souped-up car, and a whole arsenal of guns and bone-breaking hand-to-hand combat moves that can disarm an entire gang of bad guys:
The sequel to the 2014 surprise box-office hit puts Wick back in the game, being forced out of retirement “by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins' guild,” which forces Wick to take on some of “the world’s deadliest killers.” Of course it does.
The film has a star-studded cast, including Reeves, Ian McShane (of Deadwood fame), Lance Reddick, John Leguizamo, Ruby Rose, Franco Nero, and Peter Stormare. He'll also be reuinted with his old pal from The Matrix series, Laurence Fishburne—except this time they're on opposite sides of the fight.
As Fishburne's villainous gang leader says in the trailer: “John Wick—you’re not very good at retiring." Wick certainly isn’t. The creators have already said that a third installment is in the works.
John Wick: Chapter 2, directed by Chad Stahelski, hits theaters on February 10, 2017.
