Many-time Men’s Fitness cover star Mark Wahlberg is slated to help produce, and possibly star in, Patriot’s Day, a film about the Boston Marathon bombings, Runner's World reports.
The film will center around Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis and his experiences surrounding the tragic day in which three people were killed and over 250 were injured. Davis was close to the finish line when the bombs went off and played a pivotal role in locating the suspects.
The 43-year-old Wahlberg has expressed interest in playing the part of Davis, according to a Deadline report. CBS Films will produce the film, but a director has yet to be named.
