Jason Bourne returns—and this time, he's going to find out who he really is.
That's according to a new behind-the-scenes featurette about the making of Jason Bourne, the fifth installment of the series starring Matt Damon's amnesiac CIA agent.
"This movie finds him in a really dark place, and he's basically pounding other human beings into oblivion just to cope with the thoughts in his head," Damon says. "This time, he gets all the answers to that original question of identity."
At one point, we watch Damon put the "hurt" on a stunt actor—and Damon sells the body punches as well as ever.
The behind-the-scenes glimpse gives a good look at Damon’s impressive musculature as he portrays the character for the first time since the 2007 installment, The Bourne Ultimatum. A Bourne movie is "a bit like a rock band coming back together for a good old tour," director Paul Greengrass quips on set.
To his credit. the 45-year-old star seems eager to be once again portraying the "$100 million weapon" in front of the camera once more.
"It is a big Jason Bourne movie—bigger than we've ever done," Damon says.
Jason Bourne, directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Damon, Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander, and Julia Stiles, premieres July 29.
