Henry Cavill is slipping off his Superman cape and donning a very different outfit for his newest flick, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. If you’re unfamiliar with the Warner Bros. film, it’s actually an adaptation from a popular 1960's television series about the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement (hence U.N.C.L.E.) during the Cold War.
The film centers on two CIA agents, American Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and Russian Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) who are teamed up on a joint mission to stop an international crime organization from instigating a worldwide nuclear catastrophe, despite their less-than-friendly terms. But, of course, a beautiful woman—the daughter of a vanished German scientist, played by Alicia Vikander—brings the two together. Think subdued versions of 007’s glamour, Sherlock Holme’s wit, and Austin Powers’ humor all blended into one. But don’t take our word for it, watch the trailer below.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. will be released in theaters on August 14, 2015.
