I will be the first to tell you that tailoring is the key to ensuring that your clothing fits you properly and lasts as long as possible. But even a guy like me who takes a vested interest in the nuances of getting dressed every morning can find it hard to make the time to go to my tailor with all my ill-fitting pants and jackets and button-front shirts.
Now, that problem is solved thanks to George Zimmer, Founder and former Chairman and CEO of Men's Wearhouse. Zimmer decided he wasn't done helping you like the way he look, so launched a new company that does just that: zTailors.
zTailors makes tailoring a no-brainer with it's website that's mobile-friendly and an app soon to follow. Now it's easy to have a professional tailor (with a minimum of five years experience according to the zTailor website) at your beck and call. After registering, you book a tailor to come to you. Then, following the pinning, the tailor will take the clothing and alter. Lastly, you get your clothing back for a second fitting and can wear it out that night.
Prices are comparable to those offered at most good tailors (think $16 for a hem, $20 for shirt sides, and $55 to shorten your entire suit jacket) and services can be found all over the country.
With the service industry going more and more digital and direct-to-consumer, it was only a matter of time until something like zTailor hit the market. It makes perfect sense that someone with over 40 years of experience in the menswear industry, George Zimmer, would be the mastermind behind it. Check out ztailors.com for more info.
